RESOLUTION 2001- 10 <br />CITY OF HUGO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON <br />COUNTY, MINNESOTA, ADOPTING RESTRICTIONS ON LAWN SPRINKLING <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Hugo has determined that a shortage of water <br />supply could threaten the City such as by reducing the amount of available water for critical City <br />services such as firefighting; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized to adopt regulations pertaining to the <br />conservation of water by Resolution; and, <br />WHEREAS, unrestricted watering of lawns by sprinkling or other means could create a <br />shortage of water threatening the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Hugo, <br />Washington County, Minnesota, as follows: <br />1. The City Council hereby adopts restrictions on watering or sprinkling of lawns, <br />trees or other vegetation on property using the municipal water supply as set forth herein. <br />2. Effective as of May 15, 2001, properties and owners within the City using water <br />from the City of Hugo's municipal water system, may only water lawns, trees or other vegetation <br />on an odd -even basis. <br />3. Specifically, property addresses which end in an odd number may only water <br />lawns, trees or other vegetation on odd calendar days. Properties having addresses which end in <br />an even number may water only on even calendar days. <br />4. It shall be unlawful for a property owner who receives water from the municipal <br />water system to permit watering of lawns, trees or other vegetation on the property on even <br />calendar days if the property address ends with an odd number and it shall be unlawful to permit <br />such activity if the property address ends in an even number on an odd calendar day. <br />5. The City shall address alleged offenses of this Resolution pursuant to its system <br />for handling administrative citations and civil penalties for non -licensees and non -permittees. <br />WHEREUPON, a vote being taken upon the motion, the following members voted in favor: <br />Mike Granger, Chuck Haas, Becky Petryk, Frank Puleo, and Fran Miron <br />the following voted against: NONE <br />
