RESOLUTION 2001- 34 <br />CITY OF HUGO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON <br />COUNTY, MINNESOTA, AUTHORIZING QUICK TAKE CONDEMNATION PURSUANT TO <br />MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 117, ET. SEQ. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Hugo intends to construct a street, municipal water, sewer and <br />other improvements in and near the Peloquin Industrial Park in the City of Hugo, County of <br />Washington, State of Minnesota; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to acquire easements for the construction and placement of <br />the street, municipal water, sewer and other improvements, which easements are attached hereto <br />as Exhibit "A"; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City has currently been unable to secure the necessary easements <br />through other means as of this time; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City is desirous of acquiring the easements at the earliest possible time <br />so that construction on the new City Hall can commence without further delay. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Hugo, <br />Washington County, Minnesota, as follows: <br />1. The City Attorney shall be and hereby is authorized to commence quick -take <br />condemnation proceedings to acquire the above-described easements pursuant to Minnesota <br />Statutes Section 117.042. <br />2. The City Staff shall attempt to determine if existing drainage easements on the <br />Glamos property can be released in exchange for adequate consideration. <br />WHEREUPON, a vote being taken upon the motion, the following members voted in favor: <br />Michael Granger, Chuck Haas, Frank Puleo, Fran Miron <br />and the following voted against: None <br />and the following abstained: Becky Petryk <br />WHEREUPON, said motion was declared duly passed and adopted by the City Council this <br />I e day of July, 2001. <br />F n, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Mary t�creager, City Cler <br />
