RESOLUTION 1998-3 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S WATER <br />RESOURCE ENGINEER TO MOVE FORWARD WITH <br />THE CLEARWATER CREEK GRANT APPLICATION. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Hugo, in cooperation with the City of Lino Lakes, has prepared a <br />Comprehensive Storm Water Management Plan for that portion of Clearwater Creek lying <br />within the two communities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to preserve the environmental qualities of the Creek and <br />adjacent wetlands for the benefit of our citizens and the natural environment; and <br />WHEREAS, there is potential use of this corridor to serve the recreational needs of our <br />community; and <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Hugo, Centerville, and Lino Lakes, as well as the Rice Creek <br />Watershed District, have agreed to cooperatively pursue the preservation, maintenance, <br />and improvement of this area for storm water managemerrt, environmental, and <br />recreational uses; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, that the application to the <br />Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCMR) for assistance in securing the <br />corridor along Clearwater Creek from Bald Eagle Lake to Centerville Lake, and to <br />develop and preserve this "greenway" for water resource, environmental, and public <br />recreational use, is hereby approved. <br />FURTHERMORE, the City Council directs Mr. Peter Willenbring, the City's Water <br />Resource Engineering Consultant, to submit such application to said LCMR. <br />Upon roll call, members voting AYE: Warren Arcand, Debra Barnes, Andrew Goiffon, <br />James Leroux, Fran Miron <br />Voting NAY: NONE <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted this 2nd day of February, <br />1998. <br />on, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />At,t, <br />MaryCreager, City CldV <br />
