RESOLUTION 96-1 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Hugo, in cooperation with the City of Lino Lakes, has <br />prepared a comprehensive storm water management plan for that portion of <br />Clearwater Creek lying within the two communities, and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to preserve the environmental qualities of the <br />Creek and adjacent wetlands for the benefit of our citizens and the <br />natural environment, and <br />WHEREAS, there is potential use of this corridor to serve the recreational <br />needs of our community, and <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Hugo, Centerville, and Lino Lakes, as well as the <br />Rice Creek Watershed District, have agreed to cooperatively pursue the <br />preservation, maintenance, and improvement of this area for storm water <br />management, environmental, and recreational uses; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, That the application to the Minnesota <br />Department of Natural Resources for assistance in securing the corridor <br />along Clearwater Creek from Bald Eagle Lake to Centerville Lake, and to <br />develop and preserve this "greenway" for water resource, environmental, <br />and public recreational use is hereby approved. <br />FURTHERMORE, the City Council directs Mr. Peter Willenbring, the City's <br />Water Resource Engineering Consultant, to submit such application to the <br />Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. <br />Upon roll call, members voting AYE: Debra Barnes, Andrew Goiffon, James <br />Leroux, Fran Miron <br />ABSTAINED: Marvin LaValle <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted this 20th day of <br />February, 1996. <br />ATTEST: <br />
