<br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR THE CITY'S CIP PROJECT, PHASE 2
<br />PROJECT #1991-1
<br />WHEREAS, Pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of
<br />130th Street from County State Aid Highway #8A west to Irish Avenue, Irish
<br />Avenue from 130th Street south to County State Aid Highway #7, 125th
<br />Street from Goodview Avenue east to Homestead Drive, 132nd Street from
<br />Goodview Avenue east to County Road #8A, Homestead Avenue from 132nd
<br />Street north to 147th Street, Henna Avenue (aka 128th Street) from 132nd
<br />Street south to Hilo Avenue, and Hilo Avenue from Henna Avenue (aka 128th
<br />Street) south to 125th Street, by the improvement of bituminous surfacing
<br />and related improvements, bids were received, opened and tabulated
<br />according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the
<br />advertisement:
<br />Valley Paving. Inc. $851v761.06
<br />Tower Asphalt, Inc. $1,004,072.05
<br />Alexander Construction, Inc. $1,008,661.62
<br />Hardrives, Inc. $1,051.517.54
<br />WHEREAS, it appears that Valley Paving, Inc., of 8800 13th Avenue East,
<br />Shakopee, MN., is the lowest responsible bidder;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO.,
<br />WASHINGTON, MINNESOTA:
<br />1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into
<br />the contract with Valley Paving, Inc., of Shakopee, MN., in the name
<br />of the City of Hugo, for the improvement of 130th Street from County
<br />State Aid Highway #BA west to Irish Avenue, Irish Avenue from 130th
<br />Street south to County State Aid Highway #7, 125th Street from
<br />Goodview Avenue east to Homestead Drive, 132nd Street from Henna
<br />Avenue east to County Road #8A, Homestead Avenue from 132nd Street
<br />north to 147th Street, Henna Avenue (aka 128th Street) from 132nd
<br />Street south to Hilo Avenue, and Hilo Avenue from Henna Avenue (aka
<br />128th Street) south to 125th Street, by the making of street and
<br />related improvements according to the plans and specifications
<br />therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of
<br />the City Clerk.
<br />2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith
<br />to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, accept that the
<br />deposit of the successful bidder, and the next lowest bidder, shall be
<br />retained until a contract has been signed.
<br />3. The City Administrator is authorized to approve individual Change
<br />Orders during the course of construction, in an amount not to exceed
<br />$5,000, to expedite the making of these improvements, and the City
<br />Engineer shall provide daily inspection during the course of
<br />construction as deemed necessary.
<br />Upon roll call, Council members voting AYE: Brunotte, Jesinski,
<br />McAllister, Miron, Stoltzman
<br />Voting NAY: None
<br />Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted this 20th day of
<br />May, 1991.
