MINUTES FOR THE I -35E W/E COALITION MEETING OF JANUARY 19.2006 <br />Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. <br />HUGO CITY COUNCIL: Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />STAFF: City Administrator Mike Ericson <br />ABSENT: Mike Granger <br />OTHERS PRESENT: See attached sign up sheet. <br />CSAH 8/14 PROJECT UPDATE AND PROPOSED MCES LINO LAKES SEWER <br />INTERCEPTOR <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson reported that he had received a late afternoon telephone call from <br />Sandy Cullen, Transportation Manager for Washington County, who stated that they had just <br />reached an agreement with the Metropolitan Council to award the bid for the MCES sewer <br />interceptor project. Mike stated that both MCES and Washington County officials would be <br />formally awarding the bids for the projects in early February 2006. Low bidder Arnt Construction <br />will begin work in March 2006. <br />I-35E/CSAH 14 INTERCHANGE PROJECT UPDATE <br />Kate Garwood from Anoka County reported to the Coalition members that final design work is <br />still underway. Project engineers have worked out transportation issues with Centerville on the <br />CSAH 14 project. She responded to questions regarding federal funding for the project, which has <br />increased in cost from $11 million to $15 million. Letters of support from cities for HPP federal <br />funding are welcomed. Hugo Council member Chuck Haas asked State Representative Matt Dean <br />whether state funding could be secured from Governor Pawlenty's proposed bonding bill, and he <br />said yes. Mayor Fran Miron reported that the City of Hugo is publicly announcing it will commit <br />$100,000 for the new interchange. Anoka County Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah thanked the <br />Mayor and Hugo for their leadership. <br />ANOKA COUNTY LIBRARY PROPOSED FOR EASTERN EDGE <br />Anoka County Librarian Marlene Janssen reported to the Coalition members that the County <br />Library Board is planning a new library on the eastern edge of Anoka County. She stated that they <br />are looking at sites in Centerville, Lino Lakes, and Circle Pines. She said that every site will be <br />evaluated on a number of criteria, particularly location in a mixed-use development. Mayor Fran <br />Miron reported that Hugo will be meeting with Washington County Librarian Pat Conley and <br />Washington County Commission Dennis Hegberg, who is on the County Library Board, to discuss <br />a future library in Hugo. <br />CITY AND COUNCIL UPDATES <br />Coalition members shared respective updates on their county, city, and township, with a report <br />from MnDOT representative Bob Vockrodt, who stated that Rick Amebeck had resigned his <br />position with MnDOT. <br />
