MINUTES FOR THE I-35 W/E COALITION MEETING OF JUNE 15, 2006 <br />Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 7:25 pm. <br />PRESENT: Haas, Petryk, Miron <br />STAFF: City Administrator Mike Ericson, CD Director Bryan Bear, and Interns Rachel Simone and Matt <br />Stemwedel <br />ABSENT: Granger and Puleo <br />OTHERS PRESENT: City of Lino Lakes Gordon Heitke and Mike Grochala and John Bergeson; <br />Columbus Township Elizabeth Mursko and Mel Mettler; Congressman Kennedy's office Carla Swanson; <br />City of Centerville Michelle Lakso, Mary Capra, and Dallas Larson; Washington County Mike Rogers; <br />Anoka County Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah; State Representative Matt Dean; and Met Council <br />representative Georgie Hilker <br />Mayor Miron thanked everyone for attending, noting the excellent grill work of Hugo interns Rachel <br />Simone and Matt Stemwedel. All attendees introduced themselves and the organization they represented. <br />CSAH 8/14 PROJECT UPDATE <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson and CD Directory Bryan Bear provided an update of the CSAH 8/14 <br />project. General contractor Arnt Construction has done an excellent job thus far, with excellent <br />coordination by Washington County and its subcontractor Barbarrossa & Sons. Huge amounts of earth <br />have been moved and MCES sewer project has seen cuts of 30', plus the concrete curb was just poured <br />today, and the project is on schedule with preliminary completion in November. <br />I-35E/CSAR 14 INTERCHANGE PROJECT UPDATE <br />Anoka County Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah reported that the county is working with SRF <br />Engineering on traffic modeling and with MnDOT on a 2030 interchange design. They have been using <br />the design engineering funds secured by U.S. Congressman Mark Kennedy. <br />ANOKA COUNTY ROAD 14 PROJECT UPDATE <br />Anoka County Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah reported that project engineer SRF Engineering will hold <br />an Open House on June 22, 2006 inviting the public to comment on the proposed road plan. Construction <br />is scheduled to start in spring 2007, with completion in 2008. <br />CITY AND COUNTY UPDATES <br />City, county, township, Met Council, and state representatives provided attendees updates on activities, <br />projects, and accomplishments in their respective jurisdictions. All agreed to keep improvements to the <br />I-35E/CSAH 18 interchange on the front burner of the Coalition and MnDOT, who was not able to attend. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Coalition members agreed to schedule the next I-35 W/E Coalition meeting for Thursday, September 28, <br />2006 at 7:00 pm, in the Hugo City Hall. <br />
