MINUTES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 15, 2006 <br />Mayor Fran Miron opened the meeting at 5:00 pm at the Hugo City Hall. <br />PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Also in attendance were Hugo City Hall and Public Works Employees <br />This meeting was called to allow Hugo City Council members attendance at the City of <br />Hugo's Centennial Celebration Time Capsule Burial Ceremony. The City of Hugo was <br />fortunate to host the following politicians: Governor Tim Pawlenty; U.S. Congressman <br />Mark Kennedy; State Senator Michele Bachmann; State Representatives Ray Vandeveer <br />and Matt Dean; and Washington County Commissioner Dennis Hegberg. Mayor Miron <br />and Centennial Commission Chair Tina Volpe welcomed the hundreds of residents and <br />each introduced the politicians, who each congratulated the City of Hugo on its I Wh <br />Birthday. Mayor Miron noted Hugo's very own first couple, Clarence and Mayme Vail, <br />who are 99 and 98, and are the oldest living, longest married couple at 81 years in the <br />State of Minnesota, and believed to be in the United States of America. <br />Mayor Fran Miron adjourned the meeting at 9:30 pm. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Michael A.
