City Council meeting of April 18, 2005 <br />Page 8 <br />APPROVE RESOLUTION IDENTIFYING NEW MUNICIPAL STATE AID ROUTES <br />City Engineer Jay Kennedy, PW Director Chris Petree, and Senior Engineering Technician Scott <br />Anderson have worked over the past several months identifying new municipal state aid (MSA) routes <br />in the City. Staff determined that there may be a better allocation of MSA routes that would benefit the <br />City in maintaining safe and efficient City streets. Jay presented a resolution identifying the new MSA <br />routes, with a recommendation for Council approval. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2005-22 UPDATING THE MUNICIPAL <br />STATE AID STREET SYSTEM FOR THE CITY. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE RESOLUTION TO ACQUIRE CSAH 8, ONEKA PARKWAY, AND ADDITIONAL <br />ROW EASEMENTS <br />On Monday, April 18, 2005 at 10:15 am, Council held a special meeting in order to take and consider <br />offers for the purchase of right-of-way easements from Washington County for the CSAH 8/14, Oneka <br />Parkway, and additional ponding easements. Council agreed to action at the next regularly scheduled <br />Council meeting for purchase of the road and ponding easements, with authorization to extend formal <br />purchase offers to property owners. City staff recommended Council approve the attached resolution <br />directing Washington County to extend official purchase agreement offers to property owners for the <br />acquisition of CSAH 8/14, Oneka Parkway, and additional ponding easements. City Engineer Jay <br />Kennedy reviewed with Council the proposed area referenced in the proposed resolution. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2005-23 AUTHORIZING THE <br />ACQUISITION OF NECESSARY RIGHT OF WAY AND EASEMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH <br />THE CSAH 8/14 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE APRIL 17-23,2005 AS VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK IN HUGO <br />Each year, the City publicly recognizes and thanks the numerous volunteers who provide service to the <br />City of Hugo. The week of April 17-23, 2005 is National Volunteer Appreciation Week, recognized by <br />the City, and staff recommended Council adopt the attached resolution. Mayor Fran Miron publicly <br />announced and thanked the large number of citizens who provide volunteer services in the City, the <br />various service groups, and commission members. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2005-24 PROCLAIMING THE WEEK <br />OF APRIL 17-23,2005 AS NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK IN THE CITY OF HUGO, MN. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />
