MINUTES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF APRIL 11, 2005 TO CONDUCT
INTERVIEWS FOR PARKS COMMISSION VACANCIES
Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers of the Hugo
City Hall.
PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron
City Administrator Mike Ericson; PW Director Chris Petree; and Parks Commission Chair
Kitty Cheesebrow
This meeting was called to conduct interviews for the two vacancies on the Parks & Recreation
Commission created by the resignation of Jim Keithan and departure of Tom Weidt to the
Planning Commission.
The Hugo City Council interviewed six applicants: Charles Kirk, Tom Larkey, Wes Strong,
Dan Gabrielli, James Gregoire, and Brad Johnson, and viewed two videotaped interviews of
Bob Rodgers and Sharon Hanifl-Lee, who were unable to attend the April 11, 2005 interviews
due to scheduling conflicts. After a thorough review and discussion of the eight candidates,
Council agreed to recommend the appointment of Charles Kirk and Dan Gabrielli, with
Charles completing the remainder of Jim Keithan's term, which expires on March 31, 2007,
and Dan Gabrielli replacing Tom Weidt's vacancy with appointment to a full three-year term,
expiring on March 31, 2008. This appointment issue will be placed on the Council's April 18,
2005 regular agenda.
ADJOURNMENT
Granger made motion, Haas seconded, to adjourn at 9:05 pm.
All aye. Motion Carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Michael A. Ericson
City Administrator
