MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF JANUARY 5.2004 Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron City Administrator Michael Ericson; City Attorney Dave Snyder, City Engineer Jay Kennedy; City Planner Kendra Lindahl; Fire Chief Jim Compton; City Clerk Mary Ann Creager APPROVE MINUTES FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 15.2003 Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the Council minutes for December 15, 2003 as presented. All aye. Motion Carried. APPROVE MINUTES FOR PC INTERVIEWS ON DECEMBER 29.2003 Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, to approve the Council minutes for December 29, 2003 as presented. All aye. Motion Carried. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Remove J.2 — Add to Council meeting agenda for January 20, 2004 Add new J.2 — Public Works Facilities Update Add M.1 -142°d Street Railroad Crossing Update Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the agenda for January 5, 2004 as amended. All aye. Motion Carried. RECOGNITION OF TEDDY PELTIER FOR YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE FOR ONEKA TOWNSHIP AND THE CITY Teddy Peltier submitted her letter of resignation from the Planning Commission effective at the end of 2003. The City Council regretfully accepted Teddy's letter and directed staff to schedule a small reception to provide an opportunity for recognition of her many years of public service to both the City of Hugo and Oneka Township. Teddy's service began in 1959 with her work on the Oneka Township Board and later on the Hugo City Council, and most recently, years on the Planning Commission. Her commitment, dedication, and public service to the Township and City are likely to never be equaled due to the necessary time and energy it takes to serve on public boards and commissions. PC Chair Dave Schumann presented Teddy with her PC name plate and Mayor Fran Miron presented Teddy with a plaque and resolution recognizing Teddy for her many years of public service as a small token of the City's appreciation for all she's done for the City. Miron made motion, Puleo seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2004-01 RECOGNIZING THEODORA PELTIER FOR HER MANY YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA.
