MINUTES FOR THE RECONVENED COUNCIL BOARD OF REVIEW OF MAY 17, 2004
Mayor Fran Miron called the Board of Review to order at 6:45 pm.
PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron
City Administrator Mike Ericson; City Assessor Frank Langer; City Clerk Mary Ann Creager
WILSON TOOL
City Assessor Frank Langer discussed with Council the request of Wilson Tool to reduce the value of
parcels of land. There were valuations on the property from three entities: Wilson Tool - $27/ sq ft;
Washington County - $34/sq ft; and the City's - $31/sq ft, land and buildings, reflecting Frank's
valuation being in the middle. It was his recommendation that no change be made based on the results
of appraisals.
Miron made motion, Granger seconded, that no adjustment be made to the Wilson Tool property based
on the dollar figures provided.
All aye. Motion Carried.
RIVER CITY ASPHALT (RICHARD CARRON)
Representatives of Mr. Carron dba River City Asphalt requested a land reclassification to residential.
The land will be reclaimed as the end of the Mining Permit (11/1/04) so a residential classification is
inappropriate at this time.
Miron made motion, Haas seconded, that no change be made to the Hansen/Carron property.
All aye. Motion Carried.
BARNES PROPERTY
Deb Barnes withdrew her request for a reappraisal of her property located on 132od Street.
Haas made motion, Granger seconded, that no change be made to Randal/Debra Barnes property.
All aye. Motion Carried.
RECOGNITION OF YEARS OF SERVICE (LANGER)
Haas made motion, Miron seconded, to recognize City Assessor Frank Langer for his 25 years of
dedicated service to the City of Hugo.
All aye. Motion Carried.
ADJOURN
Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to adjourn the Board of Review at 7:00 pm
All aye. Motion Carried.
