City Council meeting of May 19, 2003
Page 9
HARDWOOD CREEK TRAIL
Now that summer has officially arrived, there is a need to redirect Hardwood Creek Trail around "Mount
Hugo", created as a result of the delayed Peloquin Industrial Park public improvements. Walkers and
bikers are using TH61 to get around the pile of dirt.
Haas made motion, Granger seconded, directing staff to provide a temporary lift of bituminous to the
Hardwood Creek Trail east of the mound of dirt, adjacent to TH61.
All aye. Motion Carried.
DISCUSSION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL AT CR4 AND TH61
At its May 5, 2003 meeting, the Council discussed the number of accidents that have occurred at the
intersection of CR4 and TH61. Prior to that meeting, there was a very serious traffic accident that
caused Council to direct staff to discuss with Washington County and MnDOT officials the need to
review the intersection. Council requested that any changes that could be made in the control of traffic
at the intersection should be done for the safety of everyone. City Engineer Dave Mitchell reviewed
with Washington County issues related to control of traffic and provided an update to the Council.
Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, directing staff to include Rick Arnebeck from MnDOT in
communications regarding accidents that have occurred at TH61 and CR4.
All aye. Motion Carried.
PARKS COMMISSION INTERVIEWS
The City has received six applications from residents interested in serving on the Parks Commission.
Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to schedule Parks Commission interviews for Monday, June 9,
2003, at 7:00 pm.
All aye. Motion Carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to adjourn at 10:00 pm.
All aye. Motion Carried.
Mary Ann Creager
City Clerk
