City Council meeting of July 21, 2003 <br />Page 6 <br />Puleo made motion, Haas seconded, to vacate the drainage and utility easement over the westerly 3 feet of <br />the easterly 10 feet lying south of the northerly 10 feet and north of the southerly 35 feet of Lot 10, Block 2, <br />Victor Gardens. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />AWARD OF BID (PELOOUIN INDUSTRIAL PARK P.I. PROJECT) <br />At its June 16, 2003 meeting, the Council rejected bids for the Peloquin Industrial Park Public <br />Improvement Project and directed staff to readvertise for the project, after it was discovered that there <br />was a discrepancy in the middle of the bids. City Engineer Dave Mitchell opened three bids on July 17, <br />2003 and reported the low bidder as Lametti & Sons at $733,140. <br />Petryk made motion, Haas seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2003-41 WAIVING IRRIGULARTTIES, <br />IF ANY, FOR BIDS RECEIVED ON 7/17/03 FOR THE REBID OF PELOQUIN INDUSTRIAL PARK <br />UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS AND AWARDING THE BID TO LAMETTI AT $733,0140. <br />VOTING AYE: Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE PRELIMINARY PLAT/SITE PLAN FOR GENERATION ACRES <br />Seth Marshal requested approval of a preliminary plat and site plan for 42 townhome lots and two <br />common lots, with a net density of the project of 5.7 units per acre. On June 26, 2003, the Planning <br />Commission reviewed the request and recommended approval by a unanimous vote. This issue was <br />tabled at the Council's July 7, 2003 meeting in order for Council to have more time to make a decision. <br />Council again discussed at length the proposed development expressed concerns with the project. <br />Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, to table this matter to allow the developer time to address the <br />following concerns: 1) traffic flow; 2) possible reorientation of the building to the east; and 3) safety of <br />the pond. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />RECOMMENDATION FROM PARKS COMMISSION TO PURCHASE MEYER'S <br />PROPERTY <br />After reading about the City's interest in purchasing parkland in the City's Newsletter, Lynn Meyers <br />approached the Parks and Recreation Commission regarding its interest in purchasing his property at <br />17862 Forest Road for City parkland. City staff and Parks Commission members visited the site and <br />have since met with Lynn and Sharon Meyers regarding the property. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, directing staff to continue negotiations with Lynn Meyers for the <br />purchase of his property for parkland. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
