City Council meeting of September 2, 2003
Page 8
Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the Lease Agreement with Hugo Investments LLC
and allow the City's public works department to lease 2,640 sq ft in the amount of $1,200 a month, for
the City's public works equipment in the old Stock Lumber site, which will provide an excellent,
secure location, and a rapid response time in the winter.
All aye. Motion Carried.
CONCEPT PLAN FOR SENIOR ASSISTED HOUSING BRIAN WINGUS)
Staff was recently contacted by a Centerville business owner, who is interested in constructing senior
assisted living housing in the City. Brian Wingus from Comforts of Home was present to discuss this
concept plan with Council. Mr. Wingus is interested in the City's land immediately south of the Post
Office. This parcel is approximately 1.5 acres in size and would accommodate a 24 -bed senior
assisted living building. CD Director John Rask and City Administrator Mike Ericson have met with
the developers, whose proposal would meet the City's need in providing life -cycle housing,
particularly in the area of senior assisted housing. Council felt that this proposal was an ideal fit for
the parcel.
Miron made motion, Granger seconded, directing staff to continue to work with the developer in
drafting a Purchase Agreement for the property and return to City Council for its review.
All aye. Motion Carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Granger made motion, Haas seconded, to adjourn at 10:00 pm.
All aye. Motion Carried.
Mary reager
City e i
