City Council meeting of October 6, 2003 <br />Page 3 <br />proceed with the submittal of a resolution to MnDOT for a traffic signal cooperative agreement. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda adopted Resolution 2003-53 officially soliciting funding for a new <br />traffic signal at TH61 and 1476 Street. <br />For the past three years, City Engineer Dave Mitchell has submitted a request to MnDOT for funding a <br />traffic signal at TH61 and 13016 Street. Staff sought authorization from Council to proceed with the <br />submittal of a resolution to MnDOT for a traffic signal cooperative agreement. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda adopted Resolution 2003-54 officially soliciting funding for a new traffic signal at <br />TH61 and 13016 Street. <br />APPROVE LMC CITIES WEEK IN HUGO (OCTOBER 5 —11, 2003) <br />Each year, the League of Minnesota Cities designates the fust full week in October as local city week <br />in cities across the State of Minnesota. October 5t6 through the 11th has been designated by the <br />League's Board of Directors as Cities Week, and the City of Hugo is encouraged to participate in a <br />public out reach program to share with residents of the City the services provided by the City. <br />Typically, the Mayor or Council members, or City staff, speak to students at the Hugo Elementary <br />School and/or Withrow Elementary School about the services provided by the City. A LMC tool kit is <br />enclosed in the attached agenda material and it highlights a number of other related public information <br />activities. Adoption of the Consent Agenda designated October 5t6 —11th as LMC City Week in the <br />City of Hugo. <br />ACCEPT DONATION FROM LITTLE BRITCHES RODEO FOR HFD <br />Each year, the Hugo Fre Department provides emergency management services for one of the bigger <br />rodeos held at Woodloch Stables. The Little Britches Rodeo made a $300 donation to the HFD for its <br />participation in and for the emergency management services provided for the rodeo. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda accepted the donation from the Little Britches Rodeo Club and Council publicly <br />thanked them for the kind gesture. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH REGIONS HOSPITAL FOR HFD TO DISPENSE FIVE <br />BASIC EMS DRUGS <br />At its specially called workshop on September 10, 2003, Council listened to Fre Chief Jim Compton <br />as he explained the department's interest in providing a higher level of emergency medical service to <br />residents. Specifically, the Chief is requesting permission to administer five basic EMS drugs. As <br />outlined in a memo to Council, the drugs would be administered by trained, professional EMT's on the <br />HFD, who would provide lifesaving measures for victims and residents who require the drugs. An <br />agreement with Regions Hospital is required, as they would be the attending physician to provide <br />professional direction for the service. Adoption of the Consent Agenda authorized the HFD to enter <br />into an agreement with Regions Hospital for the year 2004 in order to provide permission to administer <br />five basic EMS drugs. <br />
