City Council meeting of December 15, 2003 <br />Page 3 <br />Mayor Fran Miron and RCWD Administrator Steve Hobbs agreed that Thursday, January 15, 2004 is a <br />better date. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved January 15, 2004, 7:00 pm, as the meeting date <br />for the LCMR grant/Hardwood Creek area residents' meeting. <br />APPROVE VARIANCE FOR SEPTIC SYSTEM FROM SUNSET LAKE (ROBERT OLSON) <br />Robert Olson, 12980 Ingersoll Ave. North requested a variance to permit a replacement septic system <br />to be located within the 75 foot setback from Sunset Lake. For the past several years, the applicant <br />has been experiencing problems with the current septic system, requiring him to have it serviced every <br />three weeks. Eklin Soil Testing took soil borings on the property and found that the site is suitable for <br />an in -ground system, but due to lot dimension constraints, the drain field will need to be approximately <br />35 feet from the OHW level of Sunset Lake. Washington County Public Health and Environment has <br />reviewed the request and recommends the City grant the required variance. The Board of Zoning <br />Adjustment considered this matter at its December 11'" meeting, where they unanimously <br />recommended approval of the variance request. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the <br />variance request of Robert Olson at 12980 Ingersoll Avenue, to permit a replacement septic system to <br />be located within the 75 foot setback from Sunset Lake. <br />APRPOVE VARIANCE FOR ACCESSORY BUILDING LOCATION (TIM STOCKNFSS) <br />Tim Stockness, 9757 122nd St. North requested a variance to permit an accessory building to be located <br />closer to the road than the principal structure. The parcel is long and narrow and the 1,860 square foot <br />building would be set back 892 feet from the front property line. The Board of Zoning Adjustments <br />considered the request at its December 11'" meeting and unanimously recommended approval of the <br />variance request. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approve the variance request of Tim Stockness at 9757 <br />122nd Street to permit an accessory building to be located closer to the road than the principal structure. <br />APPROVE RECOGNITION OF MIKE LOEFFLER FOR SUCCESSFUL WATER & <br />WASTEWATER OPERATOR LICENSE <br />Mike Loeffler was hind by the City on August 5, 2002 as one of the new public works maintenance <br />employees. Mike brought to the City of Hugo more than 20 years of experience as a grader operator, <br />with little experience in the water and wastewater areas. Mike has worked very hard over the past year <br />to become an excellent member of the public works team. He recently successfully completed license <br />requirements for his State of Minnesota water and wastewater operator licenses. Adoption of the, <br />Consent Agenda approved the public recognition for Mike Loeffler for his successful completion of <br />his water and wastewater operator license. <br />APPROVE DONATION FROM LEN PRATT TO THE HUGO FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Len Pratt, local developer, wishes to publicly thank the HFD for its help in the demolition of homes for <br />the Fenway and Fabled Hill residential developments. Specifically, a vacant house at 13507 Elmcrest <br />was burned last summer as part of a fire training exercise. Len has submitted a $500 check to the HFD <br />as a donation for the work of the HFD. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the donation of <br />$500 from Len Pratt to the HFD. <br />
