City Council meeting of September 3, 2002 <br />Page 7 <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 200248, A RESOLUTION <br />DI EC LING A BALLOT QUESTION ON THE MATTER OF WHETHER TO AUTHORIZE THE <br />ISSUANCE OF SIX (6) ADDITIONAL LIQUOR LICENSES. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Puleo, Miron <br />VOTING NAY: Petryk <br />Motion Carried. <br />COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH MNDOT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNALIZATION PROJECT <br />Each year, MnDOT requests of Minnesota cities projects that they wish to see funded by the State of <br />Minnesota As Council is aware, City Engineer Dave Mitchell submitted on behalf of the City of Hugo, <br />three traffic signalization projects for consideration by MnDOT. MnDOT agreed to fund the traffic <br />signalization at TH61 and Me Street. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, directing staff to solicit fimdmg from MnDOT for the two <br />remaining street projects (TH61 and 13& Street/TH61 and 147'b Street), as well as any other projects <br />Council deems worthy. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />DISCUSSION OF INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGN AT 165 RSOLL AVE <br />Miron made motion, Puleo seconded, to table this matter until the Council meeting of 9/16/02. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />RUSH LINE CORRIDOR/I 35E COALITION <br />At its budget workshop meeting on Monday, August 12, 2002, the Council discussed the need to include <br />in its 2003 City budget, finding for lobbying efforts to improve the interchange at CR14 and I -35E, and <br />to finther provide for the planning for an interchange at CR4 and I -35E. Staff attended the I -35E <br />Corridor Study Group meeting on August I P and shared this interest with the group. Although it's not <br />possible to join this group, staff looked for direction from Council as to forming a coalition described by <br />Congressman Mark Kennedy as necessary to facilitate the interest in the interchange upgiade work. <br />Council has two options for consideration: 1) use of the Rush Line corridor study group as the vehicle; <br />and/or 2) creation of a new group on its own and to seem support from surrounding cities, including tri - <br />cities group. The City of Hugo is not officially a member of the Rush Line corridor. Staff inquired with <br />Ramsey County officials about the Rush Line Corridor Study Group, of which the City is not a member. <br />They provided a resolution that needs to be approved by the City Council, along with the selection of an <br />elected official to serve on the Rush Line Corridor Study Group, if the City wants to join. <br />Miron made motion, Puleo seconded, to appoint Council member Mike Granger to serve as Hugo's <br />representative on the Rush Line Corridor Study Group. <br />All aye.
