MINUTES FOR THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 7, 2000 <br />Mayor Walter Stoltzman called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk Stoltzman <br />Mark Sathe and Bob Benson of Sathe and Associates <br />The purpose of this special meeting was to short-list the finalists for City Administrator. <br />Mr. Sathe explained the reason for meeting with a candidate this evening, stating that the <br />candidate had another interview in Missouri on Saturday. He also outlined the interview <br />point system — (1-10), and the round-robin approach. The morning interviews were on an <br />individual basis, and afternoon a group interview. A "perfect score" interview would be <br />60 points: ten points per question and ten points for morning interview. <br />Mr. Sathe then reviewed Title 7, which states that there will be no discrimination on age, <br />race, sex, ethnic background, etc. If there are doubts about a certain question, don't ask. <br />Mr. Oliver Merriam arrived at 7:10 pm for his meeting with the City Council. He <br />reviewed his experience in the area of public administration. Mayor Stoltzman <br />distributed draft copies of Ordinance 2000- and Ordinance 2000-336 for Council <br />review. <br />The Council then reviewed the applications to short-list the candidates. The Council <br />narrowed the field to five candidates to be interviewed on Saturday, March 11, 2000. <br />After Council discussion of general areas of questions, actual questions were decided <br />upon. <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux, seconded, to adjourn at 9:30 pm. <br />All aye.
