MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 11, 2000 <br />Mayor Walter Stoltzman called the meeting, held at the Fire Hall, to order at 9 a.m. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />ALSO PRESENT were: Mark Sathe and Bob Benson, Sathe and Associates, Inc., Fire Chief Joe <br />McMahon, and City Administrator candidates Paul Robinson, Mike Ericson, Ron Johnson, Mike <br />McGuire, and Jerry Hendricks. <br />The purpose of the meeting was to interview the five short-listed candidates for the position of <br />City Administrator. Each City Council member spent the morning in separate rooms <br />interviewing each candidate in turn. Hannah Tilsen of The Hugonian was present for a period <br />during the morning. The Council took a break at 12:20 p.m. for lunch. <br />Lunch was provided at the fire hall for the candidates and any members of the public who <br />wished to attend. Several members of the Planning Commission, Parks and Open Space <br />Commission, and the public were in attendance for the lunch. Council members lunched <br />separately. <br />The Council reconvened at 1 p.m. at the Fire Hall to interview each candidate in turn, as a group. <br />There were a number of residents in attendance for the afternoon interviews, including several <br />members of the Planning Commission, and the Parks and Open Space Commission. Hannah <br />Tilsen of The Hugonian was also present for a period early in the afternoon, and took <br />photographs of the interview process. The Fire Chief was also in attendance for much of the <br />time. The final interview concluded at approximately 5 p.m., at which time the candidates and <br />several members of the public left the building. Council began deliberations to choose a <br />candidate. <br />Hannah Tilsen, The Hugonian, rejoined the process at approximately 6:30 p.m. and was <br />informed of the progress of the deliberations to that point. Planning Commission member <br />Bronwen Kleissler and Parks and Open Space Commission Chair Robyn LaCasse were present <br />for the entire afternoon and during the evening deliberations. <br />Mayor Stoltzman moved to recess the meeting until Monday, March 13, at 6:30 p.m. at Hugo <br />City Hall.
