MINUTES FOR THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 28. <br />2000 <br />Mayor Walter Stoltzman called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm., at the Rice Lake Park <br />Building. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />City Administrator, Michael Ericson <br />Community Development Director, John Rask <br />City Engineer, Dave Mitchell <br />Fire Chief, Joe McMahon <br />The City Administrator added two items to the agenda for discussion: 1) date and time <br />to discuss the design and footprint of the new City Hall; and 2) report on power failure <br />and backup in lift station # 1. <br />Mayor Stoltzman stated that the purpose of the meeting was to brainstorm to develop <br />ideas for site locations for the construction of a new City Hall. Len Pratt, developer for <br />Victor Gardens, gave a presentation, as he offered free land in Victor Gardens for the <br />new City Hall. <br />Four suggestions for site locations for the new City Hall were offered: property in <br />Victor Gardens; property to the east of current City Hall; Roy Molitor property; and <br />140'' Street (Oman/Dougherty property). <br />The Council then discussed setting a time and date for the City Hall Building <br />Committee to set a footprint for the proposed building. <br />Haas made motion, Leroux seconded, to schedule a meeting of the City Council for <br />September 11, 2000, Hugo City Hall, at 5:00 pm, to review the matrix for the four site <br />options. There will be a discussion afterwards on the footprint. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />City Administrator, Mike Ericson, provided Council with a brief explanation of the <br />power outage that caused a backup in lift station # 1. <br />Petryk made motion, Leroux seconded, to adjourn at 9:27 pm. <br />All aye.
