MINUTES FOR THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL ON 9/11/00 <br />Mayor Walter Stoltzman called the neeting to order at 5:00 pm. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />City Administrator, Michael Ericson <br />Community Development Director, John Rask <br />BRA Architect, Bob Russek <br />Councilman Leroux arrived at 5:20 pm. <br />TOWNHOMES OF BALD EAGLE LAKE <br />Stoltzman made motion, Leroux seconded, to accept the City Engineer's recommendation that the public utilities <br />for Townhomes of Bald Eagle are substantially complete. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />PRESENTATION OF MATRIX FOR NEW CITY HALL SITES BOB RUSSEK) <br />Bob Russek, chief architect from BRA, presented to Council the five site locations for a new City Hall: <br />Victor Gardens; across the street from the current City Hall; Marier property; Roy Molitor property; and the <br />Brusch property. He discussed with Council the criteia used to evaluate the sites. Carl Nordquist suggested <br />Council look at the reuse of Hugo Elementary School. Mike Ericson will speak with principal and <br />superintendent on this issue, and report to the Council on 9/18/00. <br />Haas made motion, Leroux secondai, to have the new site located within a triangle bounded by 140 Street, <br />Oneka Lake Blvd., and Elmcrest Avenue. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Haas made motion, Barnes seconded, to have staff identify major proposed roads within this area, and then plat <br />them, and the five locations, on a map and have it ready for the regular Council meeting on 9/18/00. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CHAIN OF LAKES YMCA (DARRELL SILVERNESS, EXECUTIVE DERECTOR) <br />Mr. Silverness presented an opportunity for the City of Hugo to proide for its recreational needs in the proposed <br />new YMCA's Lino Lakes facility, which would include a dropin teen center. The City of Lino Lakes has made <br />a $6 million contribution with land, inkind, and cash. There would be a proposed funding partnershp with <br />surrounding communities. A formal presentation will be made to the City at a later date. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to adjourn the meeting at 7:42 pm. <br />All aye.
