MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 6.2000 <br />Mayor Walter Stoltzman called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />City Administrator, Michael Ericson <br />City Attorney, Dave Snyder <br />City Engineer, Dave Mitchell <br />Community Development Director, John Rask <br />City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager <br />ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br />Report on Metropolitan Council Livable Community Committee Meeting <br />Report on Ricci's Parking <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF OCTOBER 9.2000 <br />Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the minutes for the Council meeting of October 9, <br />2000, as presented. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CITY COUNCIL EXECUTIVE SESSION OF OCTOBER 9.2000 <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to approve the minutes for the executive session of October 9, <br />2000, as presented. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF OCTOBER 16.2000 <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to approve the minutes for the Council meeting of October <br />16, 2000, as presented. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />ABSTAINED: Haas <br />Motion Carried. <br />AWARDS OF MERIT TO HUGO FIREFIGHTERS <br />A few weeks ago, there was a major fire in the Carlos Avery Wildlife Refuge located in Anoka <br />County. A number of Hugo firefighters assisted in the firefighting efforts under the City's Mutual <br />Aid Agreement. In speaking with Fire Chief, Joe McMahon, there were five individuals from the <br />Hugo FD who specifically deserve recognition for their firefighting efforts. The first five members <br />are: Jeff Wenzel; Kurt Grainger; Don Wolkerstorfer; Mike Schwartz; and Tony Bronk. These five <br />individuals, specifically, nominated I" Assistant Fire Chief, Jim Compton, for his leadership skills in <br />fighting this fire. The final Award of Merit and Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Mr. <br />Compton for his dedication and outstanding firefighting effort and leadership skills in fighting the fire <br />at the Carlos Avery Wildlife Refuge. <br />
