MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF OCTOBER 25,1999 <br />The Mayor reconvened the Council meeting of October 18, 1999, at 7:05 pm. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />City Administrator, Robert Museus <br />Water Resource Engineer, Pete Willenbring <br />Attorney, Paul Haik <br />The Council considered the recommendation of the City Engineer to accept the public improvements for <br />Pineview Meadows as substantially complete. Council member Barnes indicated concern that west pond <br />in the development may be too near the roadway curb, and requested that the City Engineer review this <br />matter. Mayor Stoltzman stated he discussed street -base issues, and the need to clear out the storm <br />holding ponds with the City Engineer. <br />Barnes made motion, Haas seconded, to designate the public improvements in the Pineview Meadows <br />subdivision as being substantially complete. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />SHORT-LIST (ENGINEERING FIRMS) <br />The Council then discussed those engineering firms that they wish to interview for the position of City <br />Engineer for the City of Hugo. <br />Stoltzman made motion, Leroux seconded, to conduct site visits with, and interview, Short Elliott <br />Hendrickson, TKDA, WSB & Associates, and Bonestroo Rosene Anderlik & Associates for the position <br />of City Engineer. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />The Administrator requested that the Council consider a letter to Mr. Ted Mondale, Chairman of the <br />Metropolitan Council, drafted by the City Engineer, stating that City's concern with the location of the <br />metering station being installed on a new sewer main to be constructed along Elmcrest Avenue. The <br />City Engineer's recommendation is to move the metering station from the north side of Clearwater <br />Creek to the south side of the Creek in order to avoid having the City construct a lift station in the area. <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to approve sending the letter to Mr. Mondale. <br />Leroux made motion, Haas seconded, to amend the motion to direct that copies of the letter be sent to <br />Senator Jane Krentz and Representative Ray Vandeveer. <br />VOTE ON AMENDMENT: All aye. Motion Carried. <br />VOTE ON ORIGINAL MOTION: All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Stoltzman made motion, Barnes seconded, to recess into executive session at 8:10 pm, in order for the <br />Council to discuss JD2 litigation with the City's legal representative in this matter, Mr. Paul Haik. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
