City Council meeting of November 30, 1998 <br />Page 2 <br />Miron made motion, Barnes, to appoint Tim Leroux as the fence viewer. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />The Mayor then provided the Council a letter he had received from attorney, Paul Haik, <br />regarding the RCWD's November 24, 1998 meeting, at which time they received the City's <br />petition to declare the culverts on CR4 and Harrow Avenue obstructions to Judicial Ditch 2. <br />Mr. Haik informed the Council in his letter that the District Board of Managers had <br />forwarded the petition to staff for review, and was considering conducting a meeting on the <br />petition on December 23, 1998. Staff was directed to keep Council informed of the meeting <br />time and location. <br />The Mayor presented the Council a copy of a letter received from the Girl Scout Council of <br />the St. Croix Valley recognizing the achievements of Angelique Howe and Abra Seelig in <br />earning the Girl Scout Gold Award in May, 1998. The award is the highest award in girl <br />scouting. The Mayor requested staff prepare Certificates of Achievement for the scouts, and <br />request their presence at an upcoming Council meeting to received their recognition. <br />The Council briefly discussed the City Christmas party scheduled for December 18, 1998. <br />Debra Barnes requested an opinion from the City Attorney regarding open meeting law <br />considerations for the party. <br />Goiffon made motion, Leroux, seconded, to adjourn at 10:10 p.m. <br />All aye.
