MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF JANUARY 3. 1995 <br />The meeting was called to order by out -going Mayor Walter Stolt man at <br />7:00 PM. The newly -elected Council members, Fran Miron, Andrew Goiffon. <br />and Marvin LaValle, then took their Oaths of Office. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Goiffon, LaValle, LeroUX, Miron <br />City Administrator, Robert MUseUS <br />City Attorney, Greg Galler <br />City Engineer, Brian BOUrassa <br />City Clerk. Mary Ann Creager <br />L_erCLAX made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the minUt.es for the <br />special. City Council meeting of November- 16, 1994, as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the minute, for the City <br />Council. meeting of December 19, 1994, as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to approve the claims for 11anUar-y <br />1995, .in the amount of $28,356.12. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />METROPOLITAN COUNCIL VACANCY _HARRIET MCPHERSON). <br />LeroUX made motion, LaValle seconded, to adopt RESOLUT1995--•1, RESOLUTION <br />RECOMMENDING THE APPOINTMENT OF HARRIET MCPHERSON T(::1 f HF: MEETROPOL.- I "TAN <br />COUNCIL. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Goiffon, LaValle, Lerou:;, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />ORDINANCE CHANGE (JAMACA AVENUE TO JAMAICA AVENUE:)_ <br />The public. hearing was called to order to consider the change in spelling <br />of Jamaca Avenue. There were no oral or written comments. <br />LaValle made motion, Goiffon seconded, to adopt ORDINANCE 95--295, AN <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 278 OF THE HUGO CITY CODE BY CHANGING THE <br />SPELLING OF JAMACA AVENUE TO JAMAICA AVENUE. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Goiffon, LaValle, Leroux„ Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />HUGO SNOWMOBILE CLUB RADAR RUN <br />The Hugo Snowmobile Club is scheduling their annual radar run for February <br />4, 1995. Councilman LaValle questioned whether the City was approving the <br />exceeding of speed limits by endorsing the radar run. 'The addition of a <br />condition to the permit specifying that the event must operate within the <br />law was recommended to resolve his concern. The Council reviewed the <br />special conditions, modified them to make them current, and added <br />condition #19 regarding conducting the event in accordance with law. <br />
