MINUTES <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />January 8, 2015 <br />Call to Order/Potluck <br />Chairman Kleissler called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. <br />PRESENT: Arcand, Kleissler, McRoberts, & Rosenquist <br />ABSENT: Gwynn, Lessard, Knauss <br />ALSO PRESENT: Rachel Juba, Planner <br />Connor Schaefer, Community Development Intern <br />Bryan Bear, City Administrator <br />Review of PlanningBuilding Annual Report <br />Community Development Intern Connor Schaefer presented the 2014 Hugo Building Report. <br />The report reviewed City projects and data on planning applications, building permits, <br />inspections, lots available, and foreclosures. <br />Review of 2030 Comprehensive Plan <br />Planner Rachel Juba presented on the 2030 Comprehensive Plan. The report summarized the <br />City's Comprehensive Plan Hugo adopted in 2010. The report included suggestions for the <br />Planning Commission to look at for 2015. <br />Discussion on 2015 Goal Setting <br />The Planning Commission had a discussion on their goals for 2015. The goals included: <br />Resolution of 2030 Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance text amendments, and initiating <br />discussion on the 2040 Comprehensive Plan. <br />Resolution of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan includes reviewing and providing recommendations <br />on the Storm water Management Plan and evaluating next steps with the Eastern Hugo Study. <br />The Zoning Ordinance text amendments goal has many sub -categories that include scheduling <br />regular Ordinance Review Committee (ORC) meetings, cleaning up ordinances that are <br />inconsistent within the City Code, and evaluating and revising the parking, landscaping, <br />subdivision, and PUD sections of the City Code. Last, the Planning Commission will reach its <br />goal of initiating discussion on the 2040 Comprehensive Plan through reviewing and <br />commenting on the Met Council System Statements and reviewing the Policy Plan section of the <br />2030 Comprehensive Plan. <br />
