MINUTES <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION GOAL SETTING WORKSHOP <br />January 10, 2013 <br />Call to Order <br />Chairman Gwynn called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm. <br />PRESENT: Gwynn, Lessard, Kleissler, Knauss, McRoberts, Rosenquist <br />ABSENT: Arcand <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, City Administrator <br />Rachel Juba, Planner <br />Liz Hanson, Community Development Intern <br />2012 Annual Building Report <br />Intern, Liz Hanson, presented to the Planning Commission the 2012 Annual Building Report. <br />The report highlighted the building activity that occurred during 2012, which included the <br />number of residential permits issued as well as the non-residential construction projects <br />completed. <br />2013 Goal Setting <br />The Planning Commission discussed its goals for 2012. <br />2013 Planning Commission Goals <br />• Continue Discussion on City Identity <br />o Collaborate with other Commissions <br />o Set workshop on downtown commercial zoning districts <br />■ Review of the downtown plan <br />• Study and plan the northern gateway (170th and TH 61) <br />o Grant opportunities <br />• Zoning ordinance updates — Ordinance Review Committee (ORC) <br />• City Wide Bus Tour <br />• Connection of trail systems to commercial areas <br />o Victor Gardens, Downtown, Northern Gateway <br />• Stormwater Plan <br />• PC Training <br />o Planning Commissioner seminars <br />o Staff -led workshops to discuss procedures, land -use, zoning, etc. <br />o Create Planning Commissioners Handbook <br />
