Planning Commission Minutes — June 23, 2011
Page 3
Kleisser stated that she grew up on a farm and understands the issues. She felt that there needed
to be better answers for the problems and would like staff to set up another meeting with the
applicant and the neighbors.
Schumann noted that an IUP is to allow a business to grow. He thinks there are better
opportunities to improve the site.
Mr. Luedeke explained that the screening he would be putting in would be 15 foot coniferous
trees that would already provide screening from the neighbors.
McRoberts felt that the screening should be added immediately.
Gwynn Motioned, Rosenquist seconded, to deny the IUP request and directed staff to meet with
the applicant and the neighbors to see if it could be worked out before the City Council meeting.
Aye- Gwynn, Rosenquist, Kleissler, Arcand, McRoberts
Nay — Schumann
Motion Carried to Deny the request.
Update on Joint Planning Commission and City Council Workshop
Bryan updated the Planning Commission on the previous land use workshop.
Adiournment
Rosenquist motioned, Gwynn seconded, to adjourn at 8:07 PM
All Ayes. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned.
Dennis Fields
Planning Commission Secretary
