MINUTES <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />March 26, 2009 <br />Call to Order <br />Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Galler, Kleissler, McRoberts, Moore, Rosenquist, Schumann <br />ABSENT: Burmeister <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director <br />Dennis Fields, Community Development Assistant <br />Rachel Simone, Associate Planner <br />Approval of Minutes of March 12, 2009 <br />Rosenquist made motion, Galler seconded, to approve the Planning Commission minutes of <br />March 12, 2009 as presented. <br />All Ayes <br />Motion carried. <br />Public Hearing for Accessory Building Text Amendment <br />Community Development Assistant, Dennis Fields gave the background and explained the <br />proposed text changes to the Planning Commission. Dennis also added that staff recommended <br />to table the item during the public hearing and advise staff to make changes to the garage section <br />of the code as it is in direct relation to accessory buildings. <br />McRoberts commented that some people end up running home occupations out of accessory <br />buildings which was not the intended use. <br />Rosenquist asked if the accessory building materials would have to be identical to those of the <br />home. <br />Dennis answered that the building materials would have to be of similar materials, not identical, <br />usually meaning matching colors. <br />Galler asked what the height restrictions were for accessory buildings. <br />Dennis answered that the current ordinance and proposed ordinance would restrict the maximum <br />height of the building to the height of the principle building on the lot. <br />Schumann opened the Public hearing. <br />
