Planning Commission Minutes — May 28, 2009 <br />Page 2 <br />Discussion on Ratio of Single Family to Multi -Family Housing <br />In January 2009, the Planning Commission held a goal setting session during their regular <br />meeting. This session was to identify important topics and projects for the 2009 calendar year. <br />One of the items the Planning Commission added as a goal was to discuss the ratio for multi- <br />family homes verses single family detached homes. Multi -family homes are attached units such <br />as town homes and condominiums. Staff found that of the entire housing stock in the City of <br />Hugo, 68% of the housing was single family detached housing and 32% was Multi -Family <br />attached housing. Bryan gave a presentation on demographic Trends and discussed likely <br />changes in housing trends. <br />Discussion on Blighted Properties in Downtown <br />Bryan, using GIS mapping software, discussed with the Planning Commission the various sites <br />in Downtown Hugo and gave them status updates on each property. Staff does not believe that <br />any of the properties pose a public health of safety concern. <br />Adjournment <br />McRoberts Motioned, Burmeister seconded, to adjourn. <br />All Ayes.
