MINUTES <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />September 25, 2008 <br />Call to Order <br />Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Burmeister, McRoberts, Kleissler, Rosenquist, Schumann, and Weidt <br />ABSENT: Moore <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director <br />Dennis Fields, Community Development Assistant <br />Rachel Simone, Associate Planner <br />Approval of Minutes of August 28, 2008 <br />Weidt made motion, Rosenquist seconded, to approve the Planning Commission minutes of <br />August 28, 2008 as presented. <br />All Ayes <br />Abstain: Kleissler <br />Motion carried. <br />Bald Eagle Sportsman Association (BESA)— Amendment to the Special Use Permit <br />Associate Planner, Rachel Simone gave a background to the Planning Commission on the <br />applicants request to allow a permanent range office in place of the existing trailer and toilet <br />facility. She explained that it meets the zoning requirements and that it does not significantly <br />change the Special Use Permit use. <br />Rachel further explained that Special Use Permits are subject to review every two years unless it <br />is changed due to an amendment such as this. Staff recommends approval of the SUP <br />Amendment <br />Burmeister asked if the building would be 50 feet away from any well, and if it was possible to <br />have a door in the back of the structure for exiting in the event of a fire. <br />Bryan assured that staff would verify the location of the well and check the building for fire <br />compliance before a building permit was issued. <br />Schumann opened the Public Hearing. <br />The Applicant, Allan Savage came forth and explained he had already received a plumbing <br />permit from the state, which included an approval from the distance of the well. <br />
