Planning Commission Minutes — November 10, 2005 <br />Page 3 <br />be presented to the Commission at the December 8, 2005 meeting. <br />Home Occupations Ordinance <br />On October 27, 2005, the Commission held a public hearing to discuss proposed amendments to <br />the Home Occupations Ordinance. As a result of the meeting, the Community Development <br />Intern made revisions to the ordinance and asked the Commission to review the draft ordinance <br />and forward it to the City Council with comments. <br />Rosenquist commented that natural screening was not always present in the rural area and there <br />should be no outdoor storage permitted. He questioned why the permitted hours of operation <br />should be different than those within the urban areas. <br />The Commission agreed to delete the portion of the ordinance which would provide for extended <br />hours of operations in the rural areas if the applicant could prove unusual or unique condition or <br />need for the extended hours. <br />Weidt made motion, Rosenquist seconded, to recommend approval of the home occupations <br />ordinance with the elimination of the extended hours provision. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Ron questioned the mechanism by which residents would be made aware of the changes. <br />Rosenquist suggested the City Newsletter and Schumann suggested notifying those residents that <br />the City was aware of that ran home occupations. Staff would also seek Council direction <br />Reschedule/Cancel November 241h Meeting (Thanksgiving) <br />Because of the Thanksgiving Holiday, the November 24th meeting would be cancelled. The <br />Commission discussed whether to reschedule the meeting. Staff would review the applications <br />on file at the City and determine if an additional meeting in November would need to be held. <br />The Commission suggested Tuesday, November 29th as an alternative meeting date. <br />Adiourn <br />McRoberts made motion, Bailly seconded, to adjourn at 9:17 p.m. <br />All Ayes.
