MINUTES <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />OCTOBER 14, 2004 <br />Call to Order <br />Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Bailly, Hoffbeck, Malaski, McRoberts, Rosenquist, Schumann <br />ABSENT: Kleissler <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director (CDD) <br />Kendra Lindahl, Planner <br />Michele Lindau, Community Development Assistant <br />Minutes of September 23, 2004 <br />Malaski made motion, Bailly seconded, to approve the minutes of September 23, 2004 as <br />submitted. <br />Ayes: Bailly, Hoffbeck, Malaski, Schumann <br />Abstain: McRoberts, Rosenquist <br />Motion carried. <br />Landscape Ordinance Amendment <br />The Planner explained to the Commission that a committee had been established earlier in the <br />year to identify key issues and make a recommendation on an amendment to the landscape <br />ordinance. <br />Chair Schumann opened the public hearing. There were no comments and Schumann closed the <br />public hearing. <br />The Commission discussed the sizes, types, and amount of trees required in new developments, <br />and suggested that the common names of species be a part of the ordinance. The control and <br />enforcement of noxious weeds was also discussed as well as the amount of time landscaping must <br />be maintained. The Commission made minor changes to the draft ordinance. <br />Malaski made motion, Rosenquist seconded, to recommend approval of the amendments to the <br />
