MINUTES <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MAY 229 2003 <br />Call to Order <br />Chairperson Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:12 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Bailly, Kleissler, Malaski, McRoberts, Peltier, Rosenquist, Schumann <br />ABSENT: None <br />ALSO PRESENT: John Rask, Community Development Director <br />Kendra Lindahl, Planner <br />Michele Lindau, Planning Commission Secretary <br />Minutes of Mav 8, 2003 <br />McRoberts Made motion, Peltier seconded, to approve of the minutes of May 8, 2003 as submitted. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried <br />Kieger Amended CUP <br />The Planning Commission continued the public hearing to consider the application for an <br />amendment to the Conditional Use Permit for 5725 165th Street North. The applicant is <br />requesting an amendment that would permit a garden center and landscape supply business on the <br />property. Kieger Enterprises had a conditional use permit for an environmental clean-up business, <br />including vehicle repair facilities, cold storage, exterior storage of vehicles and equipment, and <br />company offices. <br />On May 8, 2003, the Planning Commission had considered the conditional use permit amendment <br />and tabled action in order for staff to re -inspect the site to determine how many and what type of <br />businesses are currently located on the property. In review of the site and City files, staff noted <br />the businesses operating on the site were Mateo Excavating, American Surfacing, Lorenz <br />Concrete and Masonary, and Kieger Enterprises (Magnum Co. LLC.). Also noted were a large <br />number of semi trailers being stored on the property, as well as pallets of materials that were not <br />permitted as part of Keiger Enterprise's Conditional Use Permit. The applicant indicated that the <br />materials would either be removed from the site or they would apply for a separate conditional use <br />permit. <br />The Community Development Director explained that Kieger Enterprises had significantly <br />
