Planning Commission Meeting July 24, 2003 - page 2 <br />Kleissler said she was pleased with the plan. She said that, though the homes were close to the <br />road, she liked the garages located in back. She also appreciated the number of trees they were <br />proposing to plant. <br />Rosenquist commended the developer on the upscale development they were bringing into Hugo. <br />Schumann appreciated the large lots on properties with utilities. <br />McRoberts made motion, Bailly seconded, to recommend approval of the preliminary plat for <br />Fable Hill 2nd Addition. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Site Plan for Mini -Storage in the Bald Eagle Industrial Park - Tom Jackson <br />The Commission considered the application of Tom Jackson, 21262 Floral Bay North, Forest <br />Lake, for site plan approval for a 62,500 square foot self -storage facility on Lot 4, Block 1, Bald <br />Eagle Industrial Park 5th Addition. The facility would include nine buildings with a variety of <br />unit sizes. The buildings would be finished with an architectural enhanced concrete wall panel. <br />Schumann asked if the soils and elevations were adequate, and Mr. Jackson said they would need <br />to bring fill in. <br />Bailly asked about fencing around the structure and Jackson explained that they would be <br />completely enclosed by fencing and buildings. <br />Schumann asked about the lighting and Jackson said there would be lights mounted on the <br />buildings that would be shielded as required by ordinance. <br />Kleissler asked if there were established hours of operation. Jackson said that they were not sure <br />but expected they would allow access to the buildings until 10 or 11 pm. He explained that it <br />would be a fully secured facility with video surveillance and an alarm system that would alert him <br />should any garages open when access was not permitted. Renters of the storage space would have <br />an access code. Jackson said the office would be staffed eight hours per day. <br />McRoberts made motion, Bailly seconded, to recommend approval of the site plan for a mini - <br />storage facility in the Bald Eagle Industrial Park. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Miscellaneous Discussion <br />The CD Director provided a draft clandestine drug laboratory ordinance that addressed health <br />risks associated with drug lab sites. He explained that the ordinance would be part of the City <br />
