Planning Commission Meeting August 28, 2003 - page 4 wondered when the zoning was changed. Drake had many of the same concerns as the property owners along Flay Avenue. Tom Zeller, 5455 145th Street North, said it would be down -zoning if it was changed to Future Central Business because he wouldn't be able to develop without first coming to the City for rezoning. Schumann noted that not every property would comply with the Central Business Zoning because of restrictions such as setbacks. Brenda Hanson, 5485 145th Street North, questioned whether the rezoning of their properties would impede a developer from buying neighboring commercial properties. McRoberts pointed out that they could be surrounded by commercial. Schumann said the permitted business would blend nicely with the residential area. John Mample, 5389 145th Street North, asked how long it would take before the properties were rezoned and the CD Director explained that if the Council considered it and approved it at their September 15 meeting, it would only be a matter of having it published. Schumann recessed the public hearing. Malaski made motion, Kleissler seconded, to table the matter until September 11, 2003. All Ayes. Motion carried. The Commission took a 10 minute recess. Downtown Land Use Plan and Development Standards The CD Director updated the Commission on the workshop held by the City Council to consider the downtown redevelopment standards saying he felt the City was heading in the right direction. The Commission would be notified of future meetings regarding the downtown area. Clandestine Drug Laboratory Ordinance The CD director explained that the draft Clandestine Drug Laboratory Ordinance had been reviewed by the City Attorney. The proposed ordinance would be a City Code change and would not require Planning Commission consideration. The CD Director was asking for their comments before it went before the City Council for their consideration. Malaski made motion, McRoberts seconded, to forward the proposed ordinance to the City Council. All Ayes. Motion carried.
