MINUTES FOR THE HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF 6/25/97
The meeting was called to order by Acting Chair Dave Schumann at 7:OOPM.
PRESENT: Waller, Harrison, Schumann, Rubenzer, Kellison
Ed Elliott, City Planner
ABSENT: Theodora Peltier and Sandy Malaski
Motion made by Kellison, seconded by Harrison, to approve the minutes for the Planning
Commission meeting of May 28, 1997 as submitted.
All aye. Motion Carried.
SUBDIVISION/COMBINATION (HILL/SUMMERS
The applicant is proposing to subdivide one acre from a 20.9 acre parcel at 9105 130th St.
North and combine with the 2.0 acre property at 9171 130th St. North. The properties
are zoned RR2 and subject to lakeshore zoning regulations. The division/combination
rectifies a side yard setback encroachment by the smaller property. Currently, the house is
7.4 feet from the east property line. Sideyard setback requirements in the RR2 district are
20 ft from an interior lot line. In addition, the 9171 property's drainfield and driveway
encroached on the 9130 property. The combination removes these inconsistencies and
provides additional land for an undersized lot. Summers was present to explain his
request. Kellison inquired as to the applicant's understanding that the 1.0 acre was to be
combined with his property, not be a separate parcel. Mr. Summers explained he was
considering adding onto his garage or building an accessory building.
Motion made by Kellison, seconded Rubenzer, to recommend approval of the minor
subdivision on the condition that the 1/0 acre parcel be combined with the 2.0 acre parcel
at 9171 130th St. North. As no new lots are created, no parkland dedication is required.
All aye. Motion Carried.
The Commission examined a proposed location of parkland by Sanders Wacker for the
proposed Beaver Pond subdivision. After details of the elevation from Ed Elliott, the
Commission stated that the proposed location received a favorable response.
Commissioner Harrison inquired as to the construction of a pole barn on CR4 and TH61,
which was discussed.
Commission Harrison inquired as to the reasoning for the Council's decision on the
northeast corner of TH61 and CR4. Council member Johnson was present and answered
questions.
