THE HUQP,fQNNjNQ COMMISSION <br />Chairman Peltier reconvened the recessed Planning Commission of August 3, <br />1995 at 7:10 PM. <br />PRESENT: Agness, Kellison, Miltz-Miller, Peltier, Rubenzer, Schumann <br />Others Present: Ed Elliott, Louck & Assoc. <br />City Administrator, Robert Museus <br />ABSENT: Malaski <br />The purpose of the meeting was to continue the Planning Commission's <br />review of the land -use guide -plan component of the City's Comprehensive <br />Plan, as prepared by Mr. Elliott. <br />Mr. Elliott described the general changes made to the document, based on <br />the Planning Commission's guidance on August 3, 1995. The Plan <br />establishes two planning areas for the City: the urban oevelopment area <br />and the rural development area. Furthermore, the Plan breaks these two <br />planning areas into four development districts: urban development, urban <br />preserve, rural -residential, and agricultural. <br />The Planning Commission then began a page -by -page review of the document <br />finishing approximately half of the document. The remainder will be <br />reviewed at the next regular planning commission meeting. <br />The City Administrator informed the Planning Commission that the City <br />Council directed City staff to research the capabilities and <br />qualifications of planning firms to assist the City in preparing a <br />downtown redevelopment plan for T.H. 61, C.R. 8 corridor. The City <br />Administrator informed the Planning Commission that the City Council has <br />established a special meeting for August 28, 1995, to interview four <br />firms, which are: Dahlgren Shardlow and Uban; Loucks and Associates, <br />Hoisington Koegler Group, Inc., and RLK. <br />Kellison made a motion. Peltier seconded, to set August 28, 1995 as <br />special meeting of the Hugo Planning Commission so that they may <br />participate in the selection process, and to respectfully ,equest Planning <br />Commission involvement in the process from the City Council. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />The Planning Commission briefly discussed planning work that needs to me <br />done in the community following completion of the revised Comprehensive <br />Plan. This includes revision of the City's zoning ordinance, subdivision <br />regulations, preparation of a park plan for the community, and work on <br />downtown redevelooment. <br />Kellison made motion. Aoness seconded. to adiourn at 9:40 <br />All ayK Motion Carried. <br />
