Planning Commission - March 24, 1993 <br />Page 2 <br />The public hearing was closed, and Commissioners Agness and Olson <br />expressed their concerns with the business located in a residential area, <br />inadequate sanitary sewer facilities, and obvious traffic problems. <br />Rubenzer made motion, Peltier seconded, to recommend approval of the SUP <br />request of Darrell Tavernier and Robert McElmury to operate a seasonal <br />boat rental establishment, Lakeview Inn, on property identified as 4444 <br />129th Street North. Approval is subject to the list of conditions listed <br />on Jim Kellison's submittal to the Commission, and these additional items: <br />1. Business limited to 17 boats and two pontoons for rental purposes. <br />2. No expansion of the business be allowed until operation is <br />reevaluated. <br />3. No winter activities be allowed on site. <br />4. Restrict number of vehicles to be parked on site. <br />5. No on -street parking will be allowed. <br />VOTING AYE: Peltier and Rubenzer <br />VOTING NAY: Agness, Oswald, Olson <br />Motion Failed. <br />Agness made motion, Olson seconded, to recommend denial of the request of <br />Darrell and Tavernier based on safety and environmental concerns, <br />potential for expansion, parking and litter problems, and the business <br />does not conform with characteristics of the residential neighborhood. <br />VOTING AYE: Agness, Oswald, Rubenzer, Oswald, Olson <br />VOTING NAY: Peltier <br />The Planning Commission received a copy of proposed study committees, that <br />was prepared by Dan Davis and City staff. <br />Olson made motion, Peltier seconded, to make chairperson appointments for <br />the following study committees: <br />LAND USE - Herbert Forthuber <br />COMMUNITY IMAGE - Sandy Malaski <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - Judy Berger <br />GOVERNMENT SERVICES - George Schtowchan <br />TRANSPORTATION - Patrick Miller <br />ENVIRONMENT - Tom and Kate Drewry <br />HOUSING - Jim Wagner <br />PARKS AND RECREATION - Mike Brandt <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Rubenzer made motion, Peltier seconded, to schedule an organizational <br />seminar for study committees for April 24, 1993, from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
