MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS
OF THE
HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION
October 10, 1984
The regular meeting was called to order by Chairman Lorch at 7:00PM.
PRESENT: Schoeller, Atkinson, Rudisill, Olson, Potts, Lorch, Fashingbauer.
Motion made by Schoeller, seconded by Rudisill to approve the minutes of
September 26, 1984 as submitted. All aye, motion carried.
The regular meeting was recessed and the public hearing called to order
at 7:05PM.
Frank Puleo - Public hearing - Mr. Puleo is the owner of ten acres at 16325
Forest Blvd. Mr. Puleo recently obtained a Special Use Permit to construct an
oversized garage on the property, zoned SFE. It was felt that rezoning the
property to agriculture would better suit the use of the property. After studying
the legal description, George Atkinson determined that there was in fact only 9.8
acres in the parcel.. This would make it impossible to rezone to agriculture.
There was no public in attendance to comment on the rezoning.
The public hearing was closed and the regular meeting reconvened at 7:19PM.
F. Puleo - Rezoning - After determining the size of the parcel and that a
variance would e needed for road frontage, it became questionable whether
it was legal to rezone.
Motion made by Potts, seconded by Fashingbauer to recommiend approval of the
rezoning request for Frank Puleo making special note that the property in
question did not meet zoning standards. Namely square footage and lot width.
Aye: Fashingbauer, Potts.
Nay: Schoeller, Atkinson, Rudisill, Olson, Lorch.
Motion made by Atkinson, seconded by Lorch to recommend denial of the rezoning
request for Frank Puleo for the following reasons, 1. Lot size is less than
the required ten acres, 2. Lot width at setback line is approximately 2501.
Aye: Schoeller, Atkinson, Potts, Rudisill, Olson, Lorch.
Nay: Fashingbauer.
Mr. Potts presented a report with information from the meeting he has attended
at Rice Creek Watershed. All Planning Commission members and Council members
will receive copies. Mr. Potts would like to discuss any recommendations
at the meeting of October 24. The public is invited to also make comments.
Motion made by Rudisill, seconded by Schoeller to adjourn at 8:17PM.
All aye, motion carried.
("t ems,
Carole LaBelle, Secretary
Hugo Planning Commission
