Hugo Planning Commission
August 13, 1980
ONEKA HILL FARMS - Not present
Ned Pierce - Special Use Permit
Mr. Pierce, 5688 141st Street, would like to construct a 26 x 32 garage (first
accessory building). Mr. Pierce's property is located on a corner lot (141st and
Fondant). The proposed garage is to be located 1Q' from the rear yard and 12'
from Fondant Avenue. An additional driveway willynecessary. It was determined
that a Variance would be required rather than a Special Use Permit.
Motion made by Houle, seconded by Lorch, to recommend approval of a Variance
for rear yard setback from 30' to 10' as proposed on the Site Plan. The Planning
Commission feels that this request should be considered Site Plan review and
Variance, and the appropriate amount should be refunded.
All aye. Motion Carried.
Let the record show that Bill Hanson felt that a Variance should have been granted
for side yard setback as provided in Chapter 320-4-0 (8).
In reference to Attorney Johnson's letter of 7/23/80, Mrs. Peltier felt that a
Special Use Permit would be required only if accessory building is constructed
prior to the principle building (320-5, Subd. H (1). The Planning Commission
questioned the status of the proposed guidelines for accessory buildings. They
are not be be used until they are officially adopted.
Arnold Gruett - Site Plan Approval
Mr. Gruett, 12433 Ingersoll Avenue, is proposing the construction of a 30 x 60
pole barn to be used for personal storage. Mr. Gruett owns 13 acres (4 acre
deed and 9 acre deed) all in the RRII zone. Mr. Gruett stated that he will be
removing two existing buildings adjacent to the new building.
Motion made by Peltier, seconded by Houle, to recommend approval of the Site
Plan for Arnold Gruett, to construct a 30 x 60 pole barn to be used for personal
storage as indicated on proposed Site Plan.
All aye. Motion Carried.
James Brevig - Not present
Lino Lakes Comprehensive Plan
Motion made by Greger, seconded by Peltier, that the Planning Commission requests
the attention of the City Council to the last paragraph on page 45, guidelines
4 & 5. The implication is that Lino Lakes is in favor of the bike trail around
the north end of Bald Eagle Lake and yet Hugo has gone on record as being defi-
nitely opposed to the bike trail.
All aye. Motion Carried.
