MINUTES FOR THE SPECIAL HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST" S. 1994 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Stoltzman at 7:30 PM. <br />PRESENT: Brunotte, Leroux, Miron, Stoltzman <br />City Administrator, Robert MUseus <br />ABSENT: Debra Barnes <br />The purpose of this special meeting was to consider the City's budget <br />priorities for 1995, and further discussion of extension of City utilities <br />along the south side of County 8A, west of Goodview Avenue. <br />The Council considered a request by Louis Bailey for decision on the <br />proposed sewer extension east on Egg Lake Road to Goodview Avenue, due to <br />concerns by a potential buyer of his home with the assessments involved <br />with the project. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux; seconded, to deny the petition for improvement <br />to Egg Lake Road for the extension of sanitary sewer service to Goodview <br />Avenue. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />A progress update of the City's current priority list was presented by the <br />City Administrator. In reviewing the City's street maintenance plan, <br />Councilman LerOUX identified two cartways not included in the City's <br />street inventory, which may be the City's responsibility: <br />1. Cartway extending north along Everton Avenue 1/4 mile from 165th <br />Street. <br />2. Cartway extending north along Jeffrey Avenue from 170th Street. <br />Councilman Brunotte stated that the need to review the adequacy of current <br />police services, and the feasibility of establishing a City police <br />department. Councilman Leroux encouraged getting the process of <br />developing a new Fire Hall, as well as a need to work with the U.S. Postal <br />Service to find a location for the new Fast Office in Hugo. Substantial <br />discussion was held amongst the Council regarding the Fire Hall and Post <br />Office, and the need for the City to become actively involved in these <br />projects. <br />Miron made motion, Stoltzman seconded, to adjourn at 9:40 PM. <br />All aye.
