Mayor Stoltzman reconvened the Council meeting of September 21, 1994 at <br />7:40 PM. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Brunotte, Leroux, Stoltzman <br />City Administrator, Robert Museus <br />ABSENT: Fran Miron <br />The purpose of this meeting was to review the status of proposals being <br />made to the U.S. Postal Service for a new Post Office site in the City and <br />adjacent areas. <br />The City Administrator reported that one property owner in the City, Terry <br />Granger, was going to make a proposal to the Postal Service for the <br />property located in the north west quadrant of the intersection of 147th <br />Street and the Burlington Northern Railroad right-of-way' In addition, <br />Mr. Gary Swoboda indicated that he was seriously considering making a <br />proposal for his property located west of Highway 61 and north of Flay <br />Avenue. Mr. Edward Pardee, part owner of property located at the <br />intersection of County Road 8 and Highway 61, was considering a proposal, <br />and was discussing this matter with his partner. <br />Councilman Leroux recommended that the City contact Mr. Vern Peloquin, <br />owner of property along the east side of Highway 61, and south of 152nd <br />Street, to encourage him to make a proposal. <br />Leroux made motion, Brunotte seconded, that the City Administrator prepare <br />a proposal for the Post Office site, encompassing City -owned property near <br />City Hall, and return the proposal to the City Council for consideration <br />at the meeting of October 3, 1994. <br />- <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />The City Administrator requested authority to provide a letter to Mr' <br />Granger and Mr. Swoboda indicating the City's willingness to consider <br />rezoning their property for a postal facility, if they are the successful <br />candidate for the Post Office. <br />Barnes made motion, Stoltzman seconded, to grant such authority to the <br />Administrator. <br />All aye. Motion Carried' <br />Tamara Milz-Miller, a resident of the community, approached the Council to <br />request their support in her attempt to be appointed to the Fairview <br />Hospital Regional Advisory Council. <br />Brunotte made motion, Barnes seconded, directing the City Administrator to <br />prepare a letter of support from the City Council recommending that Mrs' <br />Miller be appointed to the Advisory Council' <br />All aye.
