MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS <br />OF THE <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSICN <br />March 8, 1978 <br />The public hearing to consider the request of Howard Moe for a Special Use Permit <br />was called to order by Chairman Larry Ehret at 7:11 PM. <br />!'RESENT: Ehret, Peloquin, Peltier, Greger, Gillen, and McAllister <br />Koehler, Washington County, was also present. <br />ABSENT: Peltier <br />Mr. Moe has applied for a Special Use Permit to operate a used car sales and rental <br />lot at 14057 Forest Blvd. The property is presently zoned Retail Business (RB). <br />Mr. LaMotte was present, and clarified a statement he made at the previous meeting. <br />He stated that the gas pumps were removed in September, 1977. The last time gas <br />was pumped was in the latter part of 1975. Mr. Moe presented a site plan indicating <br />the pxea proposed to be blacktopped. Concrete bumpers will be installed. Mr. Moe <br />was certain on his hours of operation, but for sure he will be closed on Sundays. <br />Mr. Moe also stated that the stored vehicles and other debris will be cleaned <br />up as soon as possible. In the future, the area in the rear would be used to store <br />cars that are.,4heed of a part. A cyclone fence will be installed along the rear <br />property to prevent vandalism. McAllister stated that he did not want anything <br />back there automotive, because the property abuts a residaztial area. <br />carrell Granger asked if the Special Use Permit was only for a used car lot or <br />was it also for a station and body shop facilities. Mr. Moe stated that there will <br />be no major body work done, and only touch up paint jobs. Mr. Granger was required <br />to follow state codes for painting work to be done on his premises. He felt it <br />was unfair to allow them to operate without following all the regulations that he <br />had to. (MRS. PELTIER ARRIVED AT 7:40 PM). <br />The public hearing was c�nsed at 7:42 PM. <br />Bruce Charpentier — Subdivision <br />The public hearing to consider the request of Bruce Charpentier fora minor sub— <br />division to divide one acre of land, and for a variance to allow for the use of <br />a private 30' driveway for access to their property. The driveway would be used by <br />the Charpentier's and the Pugh's. When the rest of the land is developed (7 acres), <br />there will have to be negotiations between the developer and the land owners involved. <br />The Charpentiers' will lave city sewer, but no city water. <br />The public hearing was closed at 7:47 PM. <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 8:17 PM, <br />PREPSNT: Ehret, Peloquin, Peltier, Greger, Gillen, and McAllister <br />Dan Koehler and Larry Irsfeld were also present. <br />Motion made by Peltier, seconded by Peloquin, to approve the minutes of February 22, <br />1978, as presented. <br />All aye. Motion carried. <br />
