<br />City Council meeting of November 8, 1993, as amended.

<br />Leroux made motion, Brunotte seconded, to approve the claims for November
<br />15, 1993, in the amount of $149,863.74.

<br />ANOK.A ELECTRIC*, COOPERATIVE FRANCHISE
<br />The City Council held a public hearing regarding the proposed Franchise
<br />Agreement between the City of Hugo and Anoka Electric, for the provision
<br />of electrical service to residents of the City of Hugo. This Agreement is
<br />substantially similar to the franchise recently awarded to NSP. The City
<br />staff recommended adoption of the proposed ordinance. The hearing was
<br />opened to the public, and there were no oral or written comments.
<br />Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, to adopt ORDINANCE 93-288, AN
<br />ORDINANCE GRANTING TO ANOKA ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE, A MINNESOTA CORPORATION,
<br />ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, PERMISSION TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE, REPAIR AND
<br />MAINTAIN IN THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA, AN ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
<br />AND TRANSMISSION LINES, INCLUDING NECESSARY POLES, POLE LINES, FIXTURES
<br />AND APPURTENANCES, FOR THE FURNISHING OF ELECTRIC ENERGY TO THE CITY AND
<br />ITS INHABITANTS AND OTHERS, AND TO USE THE PUBLIC WAYS AND GROUNDS OF SAID
<br />CITY FOR SUCH PURPOSES.

<br />Clifton C. Dailey, of 15282 Jeffrey Avenue North, requested a variance to
<br />construct a garage between his home and Jeffrey Avenue. This property is
<br />zoned AG, and consists of approximately 10 acres' Mr' Dailey's request is
<br />based on the hilly characteristics of the land, and the sharp dropoff
<br />behind his home into a wetland' The City staff recommended approval of
<br />the variance'
