w <br />6 <br />Lmonade a <br />Twin Cities <br />Want to learn more? <br />TwinCitieslemonadeDay.org <br />` Presented By: What is Lemonade Day? <br />It is a FUN, FREE, community -wide event where YOUTH (of all ages) learn <br />e' how to START, OWN and OPERATE their own business through a lemonade <br />LIEMANDTFOUNDATION stand. Each child gets to MAKE and KEEP THE MONEY they earn. Youth of <br />0,,F-11yIsOu,F°°"'°"° all ages learn to set goals, develop a business plan, establish a budget, seek <br />investors, provide customer service and give back to their community. <br />Lemonade Day is Simple <br />• First, kids register, with a caring adult, and receive a bright yellow backpack that contains an informational <br />workbook for the child and the caring adult. These books will outline the steps necessary to have a <br />successful lemonade stand. <br />• Sunday, June 5, 2011 is the "official" Lemonade Day. Each young entrepreneur will set up their lemonade <br />stand and sell, sell, sell their lemonade! <br />• Finally, and best of all the young entrepreneurs will get to keep the money they make <br />with the encouragement to donate a portion to their favorite charity! <br />How do youth register? <br />Youth can register by completing a printed application available through participatir <br />partners, such as schools or youth organizations, or by registering online at <br />twincities.lemonadeday.org. There will be numerous events now through June whet <br />youth can sign-up and receive a backpack. <br />MONEY! <br />Youth and Teen Materials Availab <br />Lessons Learned <br />Positive Youth Development <br />'aur involvement to help youth set up lemonade stands and com"O.' <br />ie 14 Steps to Success, which is part of the Lemonade Day educational <br />aterials, helps saturate our community with assets and the promise of <br />optimal development. The skills gained through planning, advertising <br />d making lemonade are only the tip of the iceberg. Youth also improve <br />lecision-making, responsibility, integrity, constructive use of time and <br />have high expectations. <br />Young people, and especially young entrepreneurs, cannot thrive <br />tithout support and resources from their environment. Lemonade Day <br />seeks to build upon the fun and creativity of youth, to nurture the <br />American Dream ... one lemonade stand at a time. <br />As the kids are having fun experimenting with lemonade recipes, <br />!signing and crafting a lemonade stand and selling lemonade to friends <br />and neighbors they are learning entrepreneurial skills necessary to be <br />successful in the future. <br />
