The City has made an effort to pre-
serve many of these spaces as active and pas-
sive parks.
As Hugo continues to grow, the City will need
to provide additional parks, trails and recrea-
tion programs and opportunities that meet
the needs of its residents.
The Parks Commission works to provide immediate and long-term strategic
guidance and direction for the development of parks for the citizens and City of
Hugo. The nine member Commission is made up of volunteers appointed by the
Hugo City Council. The Commission meets once a month on the second
Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. The meetings are open to the public and
held at Hugo City Hall.
Looking Ahead... 2011 Park Goals
The Parks, Recreation and •Continue to look for grants. grams and creating new pro -
Open Space Commission ap- grams such as a Family Bike
proved 2011 goals at their De- •Develop a priority list for trail Ride, Soccer Camp and Skate
cember 15, 2010 meeting.
