Minutes <br />Parks Commission, City of Hugo <br />August 10, 2011 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />Council Chambers, City Hail <br />Call to Order <br />Present: Rachel Berger, Roger Clarke, Mat Rauschendorfer, Dave Strub, Jim Taylor <br />Absent: Kris Birch, Noel Schmidt, Tom Windisch <br />Staff Present: Scott Anderson, Public Works Director <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner <br />Anna Wobse, Accounting Clerk <br />Jim Taylor started the meeting at 7:04 p.m. <br />I. Approval of Minutes from July Meeting <br />The minutes of the July 13, 2011 Parks Commission meeting were reviewed and no <br />changes required. <br />II. Discussion on Tour de Hugo <br />Parks Planner, Shayla Syverson presented on the family bike ride scheduled for <br />September 17. Major progress has been made in the past few weeks; online registration <br />will be launched soon and Penn Cycle has agreed to be a sponsor. There are three <br />different riding options with various activities taking place before and after the ride. The <br />routes were discussed and the safety concerns of the Commission were addressed. <br />III. Discussion on Scout Projects <br />Public Works Director, Scott Anderson informed the Parks Commission that he was <br />contacted by a local Boy Scout seeking a project for an Eagle Scout Award and asked <br />the Commission to share any ideas they had. It was discussed that the project would be <br />funded by the city and the labor provided by the scout, unless he would be able to <br />secure donations to cover the cost of the project.
