Background Memo <br />Approve Minutes From August 8, 2012 Meeting <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes from the August 8, 2012 Parks <br />Commission meeting. <br />II. Agenda Review <br />In the summer of 2011, the Parks Commission began gathering public input to <br />put together a master plan for Lions Park. At the Parks Commission meeting of <br />September 26, 2012, Brauer and Associates will make a presentation of a <br />Preliminary Master Plan and gather feedback from stakeholders, public and the <br />Parks Commission. Following the discussion on the Lions Park Master Plan, the <br />Parks Commission will be asked to provide feedback on a development adjacent <br />to the Lions Park. The developer is seeking informal feedback on park <br />dedication options, including expansion of the park, prior to applying for a formal <br />review of the potential development. <br />III. Presentation of the Lions Park Preliminary Master Plan <br />Amanda Prosser, Landscape Architect from WSB & Associates, formerly Brauer <br />& Associates will present the Lions Park Preliminary Master Plan. The <br />Preliminary Master Plan includes an outline of next steps: schematic design, <br />design development and preparation of construction documents prior to <br />construction. Prosser will gather feedback from the public, stakeholders and the <br />Parks Commission. Staff recommends that a recommendation be made to the <br />City Council for approval of the Lions Park Master Plan with revisions as <br />discussed. <br />IV. LaValle Properties Park Dedication <br />Planning Intern Liz Hanson and Parks Planner Shayla Syverson will make a <br />presentation about a potential development and park dedication for properties <br />owned by Marvin LaValle located immediately west of Lions Park. The <br />Developer, Bill Lensch, will be present to gather feedback from the Parks <br />Commission on park dedication options prior to applying for formal approval of <br />the proposed residential development. <br />-2- <br />Parks Commission <br />September 26, 2012 <br />
